Bentley teases new SUV via video

We’ve been awaiting Bentley’s new SUV, since they unveiled the EXP 9 F Concept back at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. We haven’t seen much of it since, outside of a teaser picture, but they’ve taken it one-step further by creating a teaser vehicle for the public.

The video doesn’t show much, nor give out its name, but it does feature a black Bentley SUV with dual round headlights and a front grille reminiscent of existing Bentley vehicles. The video shows flashes of a swooping side and rear end, but not much is given away – the true essence of a teaser.

The plan is for the SUV to be in production by 2016 and once released, become the most powerful and luxurious SUV on the market. We expect it to use Volkswagen’s next-generation MLB platform that will debut in the upcoming Audi Q7 and be followed in the new Volkswagen Touareg, Porsche Cayenne and the Lamborghini SUV. Furthermore, it’s expected be fitted with Bentley’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 as its base. There is also talk of a plug-in hybrid being an option at some point in 2017.

Bentley has talked about this new SUV being the highest volume seller in the Bentley lineup, but we’re still a few years away and there’s no sale price as of yet, so we can wait on that conversation.

For now, here’s the teaser. You can go to www.NewBentley.com for more information.
