Roland Krüger to be new Infiniti president

After two months of searching, Infiniti has dubbed Roland Krüger their new president. The position has been vacant since the surprise departure of Johan de Nysschen to Cadillac.

Krüger comes from BMW, where he was senior vice president of German regional sales. He was with the German-brand since 1998, when he first came on board as a manager of strategic product planning before moving up the ranks. He comes with plenty of experience in the luxury automotive landscape, as well as worldwide knowledge with his experiences as lead product planner and marketing specialist in the Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe and Africa.

Along with his role as president of Infiniti, Krüger will additionally be senior vice president of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. and report directly to the big boss of the entire company, Carlos Ghosn. Krüger will work out of Infiniti's headquarters in Hong Kong.

"Roland Krüger has a consistent record of high performance in the premium automotive sector," said Ghosn. "He brings unique leadership skills that will accelerate Infiniti's progress in the global premium market."

This appointment is a good sign for Nissan-Renault, who have lost a bunch of top executives to rival companies in the last couple months. They still have one opening left to fill and that is the executive vice president of Nissan, thanks to Andy Palmer's departure to become CEO of Aston Martin.
