Dodge has unveiled the 2015 Charger at the New York International Auto Show and has borrowed design elements from other Dodge models.
The new Charger has adopted a Dart like nose and ditched the more-bold look from previous models. Dodge claims that almost every panel has been changed on the new Charger. The hood is deeper at the front and the doors seem to be on more of an angle to show of its shoulders. LED running lights come standard on all models, and the SXT and RT trims will get LED fog lights as well.
The automaker has kept the same engine variants as before. Both the 3.6-litre V6 and the 5.7-litre V8 are returning for 2015. The standard Pentestar outputs 292 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, where as the Hemi will push 370 horsepower and 395 pound-feet of torque. All of the models will be equipped with Chrysler’s TorqueFlight eight-speed automatic transmission as standard.
Inside, the car will have a new seven-inch display located between the speedometer and tachometer. All models except the SE will come with an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system and buyers have the option of navigation as well. The car will also have a three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters mounted. Dodge has added a bunch of new safety assistance features as well including lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning.
The Charger will be available in four trim options: SE, SXT, R/T and R/T Road and Track. The all-wheel drive option is not available on the R/T model anymore, but is offered on the SE trim.
The 2015 Charger will be arriving on dealer lots by the end of the year.
