It only took 30 seconds to sell 500 Mustangs in Europe

The all-new 2015 Ford Mustang was for the first-time redesigned with the world in mind. This is part of the “ONE Ford” plan to design their vehicles the same way, for every market.

There were some concerns that the Mustang would not catch on in certain areas in Europe and Asia that it has never been offered before. However, those thoughts quickly changed after the first 500 ‘Stangs were reserved in only 30 seconds.

This was part of a Ford plan to start selling them during the Champions League soccer final last Saturday. It was the perfect event to promote the Mustang in Europe, as the Champions League final is one of the most watched sporting events and Ford just happens to be an official vehicle supplier for the Champions League.

In total, there were 9,300 people that registered online for a chance to get their hands on the new Mustang. Ford will soon let the first 500 registrants know who was successful in their reservations and they can finish their order at a dealership at a later date.

"We knew there was huge excitement building for the new Ford Mustang coming to Europe, but the response during the UCL Final was overwhelming," said Roelant de Waard, vice president, Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford of Europe. "It was a truly special way to kick off the Ford Mustang era in Europe."

The first 500 Mustangs were only available in either Race Red for the coupe or Magnetic Silver for the convertible. Customers also will have their choice of the all-new 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine or the 5.0-litre V8. Regardless of your choice, every model will include My Ford Touch with Sync that comes with navigation, heated and ventilated seats, black leather trim and 19-inch alloy wheels.

The 2015 Ford Mustang is expected to be available in Europe starting this fall and that will be the time that these first 500 Mustangs will be delivered.
