2015 Audi RS7 Sportback unveiled

Audi has unveiled the new 2015 RS7 Sportback that has received a mild refresh. Nothing crazy or fancy for the elite-German automaker, but more subtle touches and updates have been made to the hatchback/fastback model.

The exterior showcases a new six-point single frame grille with a black honeycomb mesh, which is the signature look of RS models. Additionally, the front bumpers have a sporty look with modernized air dams.

However, the most noticeable update is found in its new Matrix LED headlights that come optional to the standard LED treatment it gets. These are the same angular LEDs that adorn the A7 and S7 and have now been brought to its sporty sibling. The Matrix LEDs provide enhanced visibility, while at the same time reducing glare from surrounding vehicles.

The other new additions will see adjusted taillamps, optional 21-inch wheels with a choice of three optional colours: matte aluminum, gloss black or carbon. There are also four new exterior colours to choose from that include: Floret Silver, Glacier White, Mythos Black and Sepang Blue.

The focus was not on the engine, as the 2015 RS7 will be powered by the same 4.0-litre TFSI twin-turbo V8 that’s being carried over from the outgoing model. It’s a quattro all-wheel vehicle that has an eight-speed automatic gearbox that can help get the RS7 from 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and can hit a top speed of 305 kmph.

The other big change is felt technologically centred around a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. This system featured Nvidia graphics that process much quicker.

The RS7 is expected to go on sale in the fall, most likely in September.
